As i stated before , i do quite like the idea of writing words onto hands, words including - hope, love , compassion, respect etc
it wasn't really inspiring me enough,
so i began to think of what else i could possibly do with hands.
I came across this image , and thought it could be interesting to create my own letters using my own hands to create the words stated above.
Ideas started to bounce about in my head, and now was thinking along the lines of image manipulation and creating stencils with the hand images, so at first glance they may not appear so as hands......
Newest brief - subject - HIV, Alive and Wellwe have been approached to create a artwork within this subject, portraying a positive image. As the virus can be tackled more openly in modern days, more people are living and leading normal every day lives.
Research - what the virus is and what it can do the human body and mind, possibly online blogs from real people with the virus asking advice or sharing general stories on how they cope with things, and it interests me to start a facebook discussion with people my own age to see their opinions on people with the virus. Also investigating into the exhibition space where our artworks can possibly be displayed and get a better understanding of how it could look.
Thoughts/Development - I want to explore the medium of photography, portraits and photographing hands was my initial thought, the idea of combining text with hands , and creating words using hands could make quite interesting imagery, making stencils with the photographs i take first hand, and editing them on photoshop, then onto preparing them to be used with combining light.
Photos of progress will be uploaded soon!
and last but not least - the final slide!...
edited using photoshop, collaborating the intial photograph of the building I had taken, and inserting the self made light graffiti experiment i made.
Looks good if i dont say so myself!
REALLY PLEASED!
2nd last slide , represents legal wall graffiti imagery
these can be seen on large area's of fencing and/or walls around the city.
Final slide to go!
Imitating the Mural type of graffiti art around Edinburgh,
Roseburn mural , was created by children of the surrounding area, to bring back together the community and give them something to be proud of.
Imitation of legal wall graffiti,
slowly we should start too see a bit of a difference within the graffiti , this being a theme of more community friendly, and more thought out designs of work.
Representation of stencil graffiti art ,
not the best as i am using the same media for every single slide.
A future project into making stencils and spray painting is on my to do list!
